Getting oneself to fully concentrate in doing a certain task can be tough especially when you are living in a city where distractions abound. This is not the case with New York-born artist Anita Tortorici. How does she do it?
Tortorici has ways of communing with nature, and one is by doing tai-chi. Tai-Chi is an internal martial art, and its development can be traced to 1820 when the Chen family of China taught the system to the Yang family.
“Tai Chi is a form of meditation and is frequently known as meditation in motion.”, Tortorici says. “I try to do it in the morning when I wake up. When I do Tai-Chi, I am in touch with my inner self and the world does not exist.”
